Preparation of Moldovan local communities to effective absorption of funds from EU cross-border cooperation programs

Goal: The project will offer institutional training to the local communities of the Republic of Moldova to efficiently use the funds provided by the Joint Operational Programme Romania – Ukraine – Republic of Moldova 2007 – 2013.      

                        

Objectives:

  • To increase the efficiency of 24 local communities in Moldova in the elaboration and implementation of cross-border cooperation projects financially supported by the European Union   
  • To strengthen the cooperation between local public administration and NGOs in the implementation of projects financed by external donors   
  • To learn from the Polish experience of project implementation within the European Territorial Cooperation and the European Neighbourhood & Partnership Instrument    
  • To elaborate and promote 6 examples of cross-border cooperation projects, with the support of the experts from Poland and Moldova  
  • Recommendations to be formulated by the project participants, for the new Joint Operational Programme Romania – Ukraine – Republic of Moldova 2014 - 2020.    

 

Results

  • 24 local communities from Moldova will participate to the project  
  • 6 local communities selected will benefit from assistance in the elaboration of 6 cross-border cooperation projects  
  • Members of local administration and non-governmental organizations trained in the elaboration and implementation of EU cross-border projects  
  • 2 study visits to Poland, where the representatives of local communities will learn from the Polish  experience of implementing European cross-border cooperation programmes    
  • Project beneficiaries will include 50 representatives of the communities, potential partners from Ukraine and Romania and the representatives of the organizations implementing the Joint Operational Programme RO – UA – MD
  • The consultants and partners from Moldova will gain knowledge and experience of implementing  EU cross-border cooperation programmes   
  • Better quality of developed projects and intensified activity of local public administrations and non-governmental organizations within the Joint Operational Programme RO – UA – MD.
