Development of the new National Regional Development Strategy for 2016-2020 and Regional Development Strategies

Goal: Provide support to the Ministry of Regional Development and Construction to develop the new National Regional Development Strategy 2016-2020, in line with best practices, results-based monitoring and evaluation, EU and national standards related to regional development policy documents. 

Objectives:

• Support to MRDC in the development of the new NRDS
• Support the 3 RDAs (North, Centre, South) in the development of the three RDS which cover the period up to 2016

Results:

• Establish a participatory approach and develop the concept note laying down the vision and priorities of future regional development during the period 2016-2020
• Meetings and interviews with representatives of MRDC/RDAs, inter-ministerial working groups, GIZ, donors
• Development of the draft National and Regional Strategies as per Government Decision 33/2007 and best practices.
