Creation and strengthening of the Department of Cross Border Cooperation within Leova Mayoralty

Goal: Consolidation of Leova mayoralty capacity in order to promote cross-border cooperation within the Siret-Prut-Nistru Euroregion and creation and consolidation of the cross-border cooperation service.

Objectives: Initiate cross-border co-operation; selection and training of personnel; endowment with computer equipment and furniture; evaluation of the potential of Lapusna county in the field cross-border cooperation; designing the strategy for the participation of Leova Mayoralty in the Siret-Prut-Nistru Euroregion; creation of the web page of the cross-border cooperation service; initial professional assistance.

Results 

• Public information about problems related to cross-boarder cooperation  
• Settled the headquarter of the Department, elaborated the organizational and functioning regulation
• Selected two individuals to work for the Department
• 5 training seminars, 192 days’ study visits
• Trained about 30 public servants, local councilors and representatives of local NGOs
• Elaborated the Diagnostic Analysis and the Strategy
• Launched the Web page on the Internet
• Elaborated and submitted 4 fundraising projects.
