Strengthening Capacity of Cahul Regional Development Agency

Implementation period: March 2003 - August 2003

Goal: To consolidate the Regional Development Agency of Cahul County and to transform it into an institution which would be able to contribute to the economic crisis surpass, to stimulate the county economic development and as a result to reduce the poverty in the region.

Objectives: Creating the unique structure capable to implement and assimilate the UE assistance from TACIS CBC within the county, renovation of the  Agency, technical and furniture endowment, training for the employees of the Agency, design of the activity strategy and of the detailed action plan till 2006, web page design, initial assistance provision.   

Results

• Selection and training of the Agency staff
• Design of the Agency’s Strategy and Action Plan
• Web site design
• Elaboration of 3 different projects and funding solicitation from EU (JOP, Europarteneriat, TACIS CBC /small project)
• The Agency became able to offer professional training to economic agents and the unique institution which can attract and use EU funds correctly.
