Strengthening the Local Public Administration II

Implementation period: November 2000 - October 2001

Goal: Strengthening local public administration of Soroca County.

Objectives: To assist local governments in developing, promoting and implementing the Development Strategy of Soroca County through the following basic activities: improvement of administrative structures, development of local economy, extension of social services, improvement of financial-fiscal management, environmental protection improvement.   

Results 

• Diagnostic Study elaborated
• Soroca County Development Strategy for 2001 –2005
• Elaborated the document for Strengthening Local Governments of Soroca, for the period 2001 – 2005
• Assisted the local governments in strengthening public administration of Soroca
• Presented the achievements of the project within two conferences

The project has involved over 400 specialists from different structures and institutions, which stimulated the cooperation between local partners (the County Council, Mayoralties, NGOs, decentralized services, citizens).
