Study visit to Poland of specialists of local government and NGOs from Moldova



Business Consulting Institute and the PAUCI Foundation will organize a new study visit to Poland, during 3-7 February, 2014. The visit is part of the project „Promoting PPI as an efficient mechanism for community empowerment and sustainable local development”.


The project started in February 2013, with EU financial support. It strengthens the capacity of non-state actors and local authorities for cooperation and sustainable development. The project introduces a new concept in Moldova, of participatory planning and implementation.   

  

The visit will begin in Warsaw, where the participants will be familiarized with the Polish local government system, at the PAUCI Foundation. The agenda of the first day includes a meeting at the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development and another one at the Local Activity Support Centre.  

 

Over the following days the participants will travel to several Polish localities, to Wyszogród, Kutno, Torun, Gdansk and Sopot. 

 

The subjects proposed for these meetings  are:  activities in rural areas and EU support; citizens’ participation to public decision-making; local action groups and their role in planning and implementation of local development strategies; citizen involvement in environmental management; participatory budget, perspective of the government and civil society etc.

 

Experts of local government and NGOs were invited to participate to this study visit, where they will learn from the Polish experience of participatory planning and implementation.
