Eighty young people from the Security Zone requested business startup grants

The SCBM Programme and Business Consulting Institute announce that 80 grant applications were submitted by 16 November under the project Creation of Job Opportunities through Business Support for Youth. Each of the application files contains a business plan and the fields chosen by competitors are very diverse.

There were submitted application files from 9 districts of the Security Zone, as follows: Causeni - 19, Stefan-Voda - 13, Anenii Noi - 11, Floresti, Orhei and Soldanesti – 8, Criuleni - 6, Rezina - 5 and Dubasari - 2. There are 41 women and 39 men among grant solicitors.

15 business plans will be selected through open competition in the next project stage. The entrepreneurs will benefit from grants of up to 13,500 Euro and consultancy services during a period of 14 months.

A similar project for youth empowerment is conducted on the left bank of Nistru River, where over 80 young people submitted their applications.

This project started in 2009 and is implemented by the SCBM Programme/UNDP with the financial support of the European Union. The Programme contributes to confidence building between both banks of Nistru River by involving local public authorities, business community and other stakeholders.
