During 26-27 January, 2012, at the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce and Industry there was officially launched the East Invest Twinning project.
The East Invest project seeks to facilitate and encourage economic co-operation between the EU and the Eastern Partnership (EaP) countries. In line with this objective, various activities are being implemented focusing on the transfer of knowhow and best practices and the development of a long term relationship to the benefit of both sides. Under the frames of this project there will be implemented 15 twinning projects that will encourage concrete and sustainable co-operation between the EU and EaP business support organizations (BSOs), supporting the implementation of joint projects. The areas of cooperation/assistance are determined by the audits and needs assessment of 15 selected BSOs in the EaP countries.
The event was attended by 15 twinning consortia from the EU and the Eastern Partnership countries (Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Georgia, Moldova and Ukraine), which have presented the activities which will be implemented within each twinning.
