Local Government Reform Project “Community Strategic Planning”

Goal: Contribution to the implementation of the Economic Growth and Poverty Reduction Strategy by empowering poor communities and their institutions to manage their development priority needs.

Objectives:    

• Increase local governments’ capacity to organize the provision of improved social services in partnership with the community-based organizations and the civil society
• To present the participatory planning process and implementation practices to the local governments
• To help LPA to involve citizens in decision making and problem solving and to ensure transparency and accountability. 

Results 

• LPA representatives’ developed capacities in participatory budget elaboration, resources mobilization and provision of services according to the population’s needs,
• Improved quality of socio-economic services provided in the urban area.
